Blackfeet Manpower (BMP), working with The Blackfeet Tribe Child Support Program

was awarded the federal Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) Grant “Charting a Course for Economic Mobility and Responsible Parenting” (Cohort 2).

Vision:

Young Blackfeet see good future for themselves and have the tools to build that future, including financial literacy, knowledge of responsible parenting practices, and—most of all—a strong cultural identity.

Objectives:

Increased financial literacy

  • Improved knowledge of career opportunities

  • Develop parenting skills and knowledge

  • Strengthen Connection to Blackfeet culture

  • Exposure to Blackfeet language

Curriculum components and target populations:

Pronunciation of Project Title: Iiksook’ksooksik

Teens (14-19)

  • Money Smarts financial literacy simulation

  • Middle School Curriculum 

  • Summer camp

Teen and young parents (14-24)

  • Self-paced online modules with successful completion certificate

Non-compliant child support clients

  • Self-paced online modules with successful completion certificate
