Irma J Neal

We are very pleased to be releasing our 10th Episode, and I can’t think of a better person to have as a guest than Irma J. Neal. I have been fortunate to know Irma and to cross paths with her for most of my professional life. Anyone that knows her understands that she brings something very positive, very productive and very real to the table. And if you don’t know her, this is your chance!

Irma is currently a Co-owner, Senior Partner at Onyx Rising Financial Services, and prior to that has worked in Government, and Human Services in a wide variety of roles public and private. Her resume is impressive and includes roles in corporate leadership, government leadership, as a business owner and as an entrepreneur. Most recently, she has put her talents forward in releasing her book, Leading in Chaos. The book is available on Amazon and on Audible.

We invited Irma to join us originally to talk about her book, but like any good conversation, it became so much more. Irma is a great speaker and a generous person. She happily shares her time and her talents to anyone who has a genuine desire to better themselves or the world around them. She has been very successful in her career, and she makes no secret about why that is. I’m paraphrasing here, but her success comes from treating every job she had as if it was her own business. If she saw something needed to be done, she did it. This wasn’t about getting credit or recognition. Rather, it was about making sure there was success to share with those who worked with her, those that were served by what she was doing at the time, and of course, for her family.

Irma would tell you; she has been fortunate. By having a strong family growing up with 8 siblings, a supportive partner in her husband, a son who has made her very proud, lots of nieces and nephews, wonderful grandchildren, great friends and the list goes on. But what she was good at, and one thing all of us can learn from her is to not take that fortune for granted. Through challenges and through good times, she kept working hard, she worked to consistently improve her skills, she was prepared to act when opportunity arose, and she took on difficult situations head on.

I hope you enjoy this episode as much as we enjoyed making it. Please check out the links to Irma’s work, and especially her book. It’s a great combination of fascinating and sometimes unbelievable stories from her career, combined with sage wisdom, clear lessons, practical ideas and inspiration along the way.

This episode is available now. You can find the podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Breaker, Anchor and more. As always… listen all the way to the end for some bonus content. (#outtakes)
