Podcast Episode - Executive Coaching with Liz Bullard and Puni Kalra

I remember being on a call with all the producers of News from the Peak talking about launching the podcast, and we were sharing ideas and potential guests, topics we felt would be of interest to our audience, and at the top of our list (and I wish I still had the list to prove it) was an interview with Liz and Puni. Well, it only took us 11 episodes to get to it, but I promise you it’s worth the wait.

When we met with Liz and Puni to talk about what we wanted to cover on the Podcast, we had a really great conversation about what’s going on in the world. We talked about what we are seeing with our clients and co-workers dealing with a new way of living and working, and how our work can be impactful to these very challenging times. We kept coming back to the theme of Executive Coaching. Liz and Puni are both Certified Professional Co-Active Coaches (CPCC) and have been providing some free group coaching sessions through the Western Intergovernmental Child Support Engagement Council (WICSEC) and Colorado Judicial. In these sessions they have been able to get a real sense of the challenges people in public services have been facing. When you get to the core of this subject, the challenges can come and go, the circumstances can change, but the concepts of coaching remain the same. It’s about better communication, about human interactions, about having better conversations and more meaningful contact with the people around you.

As with many of our episodes, this was the plan, but because we have such dynamic guests (and are so good at interviewing people) we wound up taking the conversation to a lot of different places along the way. When we get time with Liz or Puni (Or both on a really good day) we always leave the meeting feeling positive. It’s not an overstatement to say that a lot of things in the world suck right now, and there’s nothing wrong with feeling that way. But what I get from my interactions with our guests is a sense that there are still positive things going on, that there is hope, that people are learning to adapt and to care for each other. We still all have a lot to learn, but it’s not all bad news by any means.

We hope this episode gives you some of that sense of hope, and while I’m hoping… I also hope you subscribe and listen to all our episodes.

This episode is available now. You can find the podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Breaker, Anchor and more. As always… listen all the way to the end for some bonus content. (#outtakes)
